Memory

Unnur Óttarsdóttir opened her exhibition Memory at the Grafiksalur gallery at January 2020.

Memory, memories and the fragility of abstract and non-verbal memory were observed through the artworks at the exhibition. Through paintings, photographs, video and prints, a light was shed on the nature of memory and how non-verbal it can be. Emotional memory flows in colors and shapes. Photographs contain memories and tell stories. A life story is expressed through works of art.

During the exhibition, free workshops were offered where memory and memories were worked with by viewing works of art, conducting memory exercises, studying and participating in art-making and through a dialogue.
